between but are very important the just about the only opportunity we
have to communicate with many of you - we urge you to take it.
Anti-virus
Not
all our customers know this, but some weeks back we added very
serious anti-virus solutions to all our servers. So if you
have not received any virus alerts in these last weeks, that is
the reason why. Since we have installed it, there has not
been a single report of a virus getting through the server.
Anti-spam has arrived!
The average spam flowing into a professional Internet users mail
box easily numbers three hundred or more. Now just imagine
a way to cut
that figure by up to 90%. Our anti-spam solution is
now
available on all our servers.
How does it
work?
If the mail server decides a message is spam it will add "SPAM:" to
your subject line. At your request this SPAM labeled mail can be
intercepted and deleted by the mail server. Alternately,
you can create a simple filter right on the mail server to
delete it or hold it on the server. You don't have to download the spam which makes mail faster and easier to
manage.
This solution is domain
wide so it will automatically effect all email accounts
associated with the domain. This is not a
miracle solution - there will always be some spam that gets
through - otherwise the spam filter would have to be so
aggressive as to endanger legitimate mail. Even a
70% reduction in the spam you now get will save you time - and
as we all know, "time is money".
What is the cost?
For all
accounts there is a one-time setup charge of $10 per domain.
There will be no change in your monthly billing - so essentially
it is free except the setup. There is one single exception
which is the STOCK virtual account. If your domain account
is a STOCK account, you can elect to add an anti-spam service
for an additional $5 per month and the one-time setup charge of

router to under 10 seconds. Our reward for this was a
five-fold decrease in router CPU usage. In other words, the new
router is very strong. And naturally, we have a duplicate
router exactly like the first in case of the unlikely event of a
problem with the primary router. Having said that we have a
little more tweaking to do with "routes" and "backbones".
There is no expected downtime but we will send out a notice in
advance if there is any possibility of an interruption.
